A bit about my journey and what brought me here today….
When I was younger, I was constantly sick and the doctors would find a way to either put a band-aid on what was making me sick or prescribe another pill to try to mask it. We were never addressing the root of the problem. This is WHY I am so passionate about what I do today and LOVE to serve others. I spent so many years feeling TIRED, not having ENERGY, feeling BLOATED, SUFFERING with symptoms and never really looking at what the ROOT of the cause was. Flash forward… I had reached a point in my life where I was tired of feeling sick and tired. I went with my Mom to see a naturopathic doctor, after seeing many ENTs and my regular doctors with no help, no solutions, just prescriptions and feeling hopeless.
This was where my journey into the world of health and wellness began for me. I remember the naturopathic doctor telling me… “You can give up dairy or be medicated for the rest of your life and suffer with the many symptoms you have.” You guys!! Trust me when I say… I was a MOUSE. I lived for cheese and dairy. I remember thinking to myself, as many others I have helped have thought… “There is no way I can give up cheese.” BUT I did. In fact, I gave up all dairy. I also started to transition to a vegan lifestyle. I did this in steps. I first became a pescatarian and then moved towards being a vegetarian (an unhealthy one) and then a vegan. It wasn’t until I found veganism that I found my health and what worked for my body. It wasn’t until I found veganism that I REALLY began to understand what was going into my body.
I had always wanted to be a vegan. Even from a young age and a toddler, I remember spitting the meat out (my mom recalls this as well) or I would hold onto it and hide it to give to the dogs. Honestly, I didn’t believe I could do it. I went along with eating meat because, at the time, it felt easier, it was what I knew and I fit in. Truth be told, eating animals never felt right for me. I loved them, so how could I eat them? I was always rescuing and saving animals, but I was eating them? Something had to change. My friends, I am here to tell you… Nothing in the world is worth feeling sick over. If we do not have our health and our bodies are not functioning optimally, we have nothing. Additionally, if you are not living authentically and being true to you and your beliefs, then you are not truly living. I have now been vegan for about 16 years and gluten free for about 11 years (honestly, I’ve lost track of the time).
I felt instant relief from my suffering and I lost about 20 pounds in a short amount of time, just by eliminating dairy and changing my lifestyle choices with food, while becoming aware of my body. It took time to get to where I felt like I was living in MY body again, but making this shift was HUGE for me. It was scary at first (more-so for my loved ones and family members), but it was so empowering to take back my health and realize that only I had the key to making me feel better. THAT is WHY I do what I do. I was so tired of not feeling or being HEARD. I was so tired of walking around with a low self-esteem because I was holding onto weight I couldn’t shed. I was tired of feeling awful and sick ALL the time. I was tired of making all of my choices for everyone else and not me. So many of us don’t even know how amazing our bodies are designed to feel. Educating myself, taking time to know what I was nourishing my body with, changed everything for me. Learning how to nourish YOUR body and understanding what it needs is KEY.
As I dove further and further into the wellness world, I started yoga teacher training. This was after attending a free class at a local Lululemon Athletica in Calabasas. Little did I know that free class would inspire and spark a new branch of my journey to wellness and helping others. I quickly took to yoga and fell in love with it’s many health benefits and how it felt in my body. I trained with YogaWorks and received my 500-hour teacher training certificate. I have taught for years now and I love it. I also did an Urban Zen Level 1 training for self-care from YogaWorks. I used this training to help utilize different modalities in my yoga classes. I believe that yoga transforms the mental attitude and helps us to be able to be better people and more present in our lives. It helps us learn how to take care of ourselves and how to let go. It also provides us the tools to practice self care. Yoga is health. It is a way to connect with others and one’s self on a whole new level.
Over the years, I have helped countless people switch to cleaner and healthier lifestyles and I am thrilled to now be an Integrative Health Coach, thanks to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

My PASSION is helping others on their own self-exploration and journey to health. I specialize in vegan and gluten-free lifestyles and help my clients to live a more plant-based lifestyle. I am here to serve you and help you feel your best and LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE. More About Erin
I am 34-years-old and the proud Mama of a two and a half-year-old boy name Bairre (pronounced Bear). He is my pride and joy and while motherhood has its challenges, as many of my fellow Mama’s know, it is by far THE greatest gift, one I never thought I would have. Bairre is by far my greatest gift from God and will always be my greatest legacy to the world. My son inspires me every single day to be the best version of myself I can be.
I am also the owner and founder of Mama Bairre (pronounced Bear, but spelled like my son’s name.) Mama Bairre is my health coaching business, blog and a place for all things health and wellness. It is also a space for pure, safe and beneficial products (Arbonne), as well as other lifestyle products and services. My long-term goal is to open two vegan wellness centers.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Daughter to Sandra Marshall, an Emmy award-winning make-up artist and legendary Broadcast Journalist, Jerry Dunphy. As a child, I wanted to be a singer who designed clothes, but after my father passed, I decided to go into Broadcast Journalism. I graduated from CSUN with a Bachelors Degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sociology. I worked in news for about ten years, holding various titles. It is something I am proud of and hold dear, because it taught me about work ethic and I am grateful for the experiences I was fortunate enough to have. My long days and overnight hours also taught me a lot about my health and mindset. It began a series of realizations for me… which lead me to where I stand today.
I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.
I work with my clients to get in touch with their body’s needs because I understand that life happens and your needs will change. I want to equip you with the self-awareness to make the best decisions for yourself in any given circumstance. I believe each person is fully capable of making well-informed decisions as their own expert, not the latest magazine article or fad diet book.

As your coach, I will not dictate a diet for you, but together we will explore why some foods make you feel better than others and how to strategically use that feedback.
