Infused water with mint and blueberries

One of my favorite treats in summer or all year round is infused water. It is truly such a simple way to add natural flavor to your water and make it more enticing. I don’t know about you, but I have to constantly remind myself to drink water and stay hydrated. I usually find ways to create water that tastes good without all the sweetness by adding mint, blueberries, strawberries or orange slices, lemon slices or even cucumber! The options and ideas are endless. It really comes down to preference.

Some of my favorite combinations are: Lemon and mint, Orange and berries or just orange alone. I also love basil and strawberries, mint and blueberries, cucumber and mint, lime and mint, berries and the list goes on and on. If you’re looking for a way to enjoy water a little more, try adding some of nature’s goodness to your bottle instead of reaching for all the sugar add-ins.

Lastly, find creative ways to make sure you are getting your daily intake of water. Maybe it’s a special cup that you know you only have to drink three of to get to your daily goal. Maybe it’s a pretty bottle that you want to carry around and reminds you to drink more water. Maybe it’s the type of water… for me, I prefer alkaline and ozone water. They always taste best to me and they have so many wonderful health benefits for your body and skin. For all my nursing Mama’s out there… I feel your hydration struggle and I know that no matter how much water you drink, you probably feel like you could have a gallon more and still feel dry and depleted. Finding ways to be creative with your water intake and make it more fun, creative and flavorful can make you want to stay hydrated without even knowing you are hydrating.

No matter what walk of life you are in, hydration is such an important key to health. As adults we are about 50-65% water and infants have even higher numbers closer to the range of 75-78%. So… what’s the takeaway? Hydrate and have some fun with it!
